When it comes to adapting books and even comic books, I think that pipeline is natural. Movies and TV shows are providing us with visuals and movement that expand on still images and words. The influx and demand for video game adaptations, though, does turn my head a little bit, sometimes more than others. With some video games, like the older Mario games, that rely more on platforming challenges, or Street Fighter, which relies more on combat, I get why these would be turned into movies. There's more room to explore the background on a game that doesn't have cutscenes or more than three repeated lines of dialogue. Playing off curiosity is what art does best, and expanding on stories untold is never a bad thing....
